Charlotte: 3 months

Clothes: Size 1 diapers. I'm still squeezing her into 3 month sleepers because 6 months are just way too huge on her (I did try some on her). And she's in 3 month pants/shirts/onesies.

Food: She is nursing every 2-3 hours during the day and is going 5-6 hours at night typically. She's finally rid of thrush, but I still have it. She's been thrush-free for a couple weeks now. I can tell mine is getting better but is not gone yet. Hopefully soon!

Sleep: She hasn't been much of a napper lately. Or a good sleeper at all for that matter. She won't just sleep on her own for any length of time as of about a week ago. I had kind of quit the swaddle because she started breaking out of it every single time...so I thought, what's the point? Right? And she seemed to be sleeping just fine without the swaddle. She was napping 2-3 hours at a time, and falling asleep at night in her bassinet just fine. And then a week ago that all changed. She started only sleeping for 30 minutes at a time for the most part...maybe an hour max. And she would just take these crazy short little sporadic naps all day and was impossible to get to sleep at night. And then I decided to try the swaddle again. So far so good, but tonight is our first time doing it again. She's been asleep about an hour and a half so far...keeping my fingers crossed! And she still ends up in our bed at night after she wakes up to nurse just because I typically fall asleep while she's nursing. But she's not like Eden in that I can shove her clear to the other side of the bed (when Corey is traveling), and it makes no difference to her. Eden always had to be RIGHT to me...touching me and on me in some form at all times.

Activity: She is loving her baths now. She just kicks and flails her arms like crazy to splash in the water! So cute!! She also loves her activity mat...and has a couple favorite toys. This elephant stuffed animal that's one of those sensory toys (has a rattle, crinkly paper in the ears, a teething ring, etc) just makes her crazy. And sophie the giraffe is a favorite toy for gnawing/gumming. She's becoming more active/alert during the day. She smiles TONS and has laughed a couple times. She prefers to be standing (while being supported of course) whenever possible. She likes to face out when being held because she wants to look at everything. I'm bummed to say that she's not much of a snuggler. It makes me so sad. No matter how much I try to hold her snuggled close against my chest like I did with Eden (the position that always put Eden to sleep and calmed her when upset), Charlotte just wants no part of it! Boo!! At least I still get some occasional snuggles from Eden or I'd be one depressed mama. Charlotte likes to be held at all times and throws a fit when she's put down, but I think it has more to do with the fact that she wants to observe the world around her and see what's going on/be a part of everything and less to do with the fact that she wants the closeness. Though I wish the latter were the case! I mean, obviously she sometimes just wants her mama or daddy, but even then, she refuses to be held in any way other than face out. Sad day. I try to force a snuggle every now and then, but she just gets mad and yells at me. Literally. She yells. I can definitely say I did not expect her to have this type of personality based on her womb movements. I was pretty dead on with Eden, but with Charlotte...no where close! She also hates tummy time now but is doing pretty well with her head/neck muscles! I think she'll be pretty solid with that by 4 months. And I also see a back to tummy roll in the near future. She can get from back to side like it's nothing...so I think the full roll will be coming soon! Oh, and she's talking up a storm these days.

Personality: Still a pretty high need baby. She wants constant attention...though I can't blame her. I give Eden most of my attention when she's awake because she needs more interaction/supervision. So poor Charlotte just sits there observing in my lap or in her swing. I try my best to give her LOTS of one-on-one time when Eden is napping or sleeping. I'll usually keep Charlotte up an extra hour after Eden goes to bed just to play with her and talk to her. I feel like there's not enough of me to go around sometimes, and I think Charlotte feels a little neglected. I'm doing my best though. Charlotte is the kind of girl who knows what she wants and won't accept anything less. She is extremely determined. Even more so than Eden, I think. And strong-willed. I have TWO stubborn girls. Their teen years should be interesting. Actually, their entire childhood in general could be interesting. As I said above, she is not a snuggler. And I can't even begin to explain how sad that makes me. The only time I get snuggles is in the rare occurrence that she happens to fall asleep on me. She smiles pretty easy though when you talk to her. I had to work pretty hard for Eden's smiles at this age.

Miscellaneous:
*She is the total opposite of her sister so far in body shape. She is a long, skinny, big-footed girl. Eden was on the smaller side (length wise) but started to get the chubby baby thighs pretty early on. And she always had (and still has) tiny feet for her age. Charlotte's feet are huge! And she is just so crazy long. Maybe she'll be a basketball player.
*I say this every time, but Charlotte just loves her big sis. And Eden loves her little sis. I can't wait to see their relationship grow as they get older. It melts my heart to watch them interact. My favorite part of the day is going to get Eden out of bed...typically Charlotte wakes up first because she's a pretty early riser. So I play with Charlotte in bed until Eden wakes up... usually about an hour. And then Charlotte and I go together to get Eden up. I put Charlotte in Eden's crib and take Eden out to change her diaper. Once Eden is cleaned up, I put her back in the crib with Charlotte and Eden lays next to her and plays with her, much to Charlotte's delight (always supervised of course). They do this for about 10 or 15 minutes before we go get breakfast. I think it's Eden's favorite part of the day. If Charlotte happens to sleep in and I go get Eden up alone, Eden won't stop asking for her sister. SO CUTE!!
*Charlotte is going to outgrow her bassinet pretty soon because she's so long. And she also needs to move out of our room pretty soon because Corey's showers in the morning before work wake her up now (she used to sleep through them rather soundly). I'll probably be moving her to the crib after Christmas! Corey will be traveling the whole month of December (except weekends and the holidays), so I have some time before I have to move her out of our room.

Picture dump!
